McALLEN, Texas – The City of McAllen’s Office of Communications and Mayor Javier Villalobos have launched Real Conversations, a video series featuring residents and local professionals discussing health, education, civic initiatives and personal stories.
Villalobos said the program gives residents an opportunity to hear directly from people whose experiences, accomplishments and service help define the community. Communications Director Irma Chapa said the series is intended to inform residents while strengthening their connection with the city.
Episodes released so far include conversations with professional golfer Abraham Ancer, local education and health leaders, community advocates and residents sharing stories of resilience. Health-focused installments address lung cancer, colonoscopies and the importance of preventive screening.
Real Conversations is available through the McAllen Cable Network on Spectrum Channel 1300 and on the City of McAllen’s YouTube channel. Residents may submit future story ideas to the city’s Office of Communications.
