McALLEN, Texas – The City of McAllen is searching for an Honorary Animal Grand Marshal to take part in the 2026 McAllen Holiday Parade during its Wild Christmas celebration.

This will be the first time an animal holds the honorary role. Owners may enter dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles or other animals for a chance to ride in the parade, receive VIP tickets and serve as the official Honorary Animal Grand Marshal.

Only one entry is permitted per pet, and the submission period closes Oct. 31. The parade is presented by H-E-B and powered by Bert Ogden Rio Grande Valley.

Entry instructions are available through the City of McAllen’s official social media channels.
