McALLEN, Texas – The McAllen Chamber of Commerce has received recognition from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation for programs that help local entrepreneurs start and grow businesses.
The chamber has hosted 1 Million Cups in McAllen since April 11, 2018. The recurring program gives entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their companies, receive feedback and build connections with other business owners and community partners.
The chamber is also conducting its eighth FastTrac cohort. More than 60 entrepreneurs have participated in the training program, which covers business planning, customers, finances, operations and growth strategies.
Chamber President and CEO Elizabeth Suarez said the recognition reflects sustained work to strengthen McAllen’s entrepreneurial community. Jorge Sanchez, the chamber’s vice president of business development and entrepreneurship, said the programs give business owners practical support and peer connections.
