McAllen Adds Outdoor Fitness Equipment at Five Parks

McALLEN, Texas – The city of McAllen and Hidalgo County Precinct 4 will celebrate the installation of outdoor fitness equipment at five city parks.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Garza Park, 2601 Lark Ave.

Officials expected to attend include Mayor Javier Villalobos, members of the McAllen City Commission, City Manager Isaac J. Tawil, McAllen Parks and Recreation leaders and Hidalgo County Precinct 4 Commissioner Ellie Torres.

The new exercise equipment has been installed at Camp McAllen, 8701 N. 23rd St.; McAllen Youth Baseball Complex, 8201 N. 29th St.; La Floresta Park, 1800 W. Stanford Ave.; Morris/Perez Park, 1400 W. Trenton Road; and Garza Park.

The installations expand public access to outdoor exercise stations at parks in several parts of McAllen. The Friday ceremony at Garza Park will formally mark completion of the additions.
