DHR Health is reminding Rio Grande Valley families that scoliosis care is available locally through its Scoliosis Rehabilitation Clinic and Orthopedic Spine Center of Excellence, according to a July 1, 2026, post from the health system.
The announcement says DHR Health offers specialized scoliosis rehabilitation services at its Orthopedic Sports Therapy Institute location in Alamo. The program includes care from physical therapist Jorge Escobedo, who DHR Health says is certified in the Schroth Method, a specialized physical therapy approach used for scoliosis and kyphosis.
DHR Health also points patients who may need surgical evaluation to its Orthopedic Spine Center of Excellence in Edinburg, where orthopedic spine surgeon Dr. Jaime Villarreal provides evaluations, diagnosis, nonsurgical care and surgical procedures for scoliosis and other spine conditions.
The health system said the services are intended to give teenagers and adults access to specialized scoliosis care close to home.
