The International Museum of Art & Science will open Diego: The Promise of a Better Future on Saturday, July 25, with a Director’s Talk and opening reception.
The Director’s Talk is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., followed by an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. at IMAS, 1900 W. Nolana Ave. in McAllen. The exhibition will remain on view through Oct. 25, 2026.
The exhibition features works from the Collection of Banco de Mexico Fiduciario in the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Museums Trust. Supporting and partner organizations include The Warren Group Architects, Museo Anahuacalli, Museo Frida Kahlo and Mexico’s Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriores.
The opening reception is free for IMAS members, with pre-registration encouraged. Members may bring one non-member guest per membership, and additional member guests may attend for a $10 admission fee.
The exhibition adds a major arts offering to McAllen’s summer and fall cultural calendar, connecting local museum visitors with one of Mexico’s most influential artists.
