McAllen Library and Hidalgo County Launch Health Education Series

McALLEN, Texas – McAllen Public Library and Hidalgo County Health and Human Services are presenting a Community Health Education Series at the Main Library during August.

The programs are scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. Fridays in Conference Room B at the library, 4001 N. 23rd St. Public health professionals will discuss local health concerns and practical prevention strategies.

The Aug. 14 session covers infectious diseases and colorectal cancer. Opioid awareness and prevention is scheduled for Aug. 21, followed by a session on vaccine-preventable diseases Aug. 28.

The series is intended to give residents direct access to health information and help them better understand prevention, warning signs and available resources.
