McAllen ISD has earned the Texas Art Education Association’s Visual Arts Award for 2026, making the district a District of Distinction for the seventh consecutive year.
The recognition honors school districts that demonstrate strong support for visual arts education and student achievement. The award reflects the work of McAllen ISD students, teachers and campuses in developing creative skills and maintaining a strong arts program.
District officials said the honor recognizes the commitment of educators and students who continue to make visual arts an important part of the school experience.
