DHR Health and the Valley Athletic Trainers Association are hosting the fourth annual Texas Emergency Athletic Management Seminar on July 23 and 24 at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance.

The free two-day training is aimed at school athletic trainers, nurses, physicians, emergency medical service personnel and others who work with student athletes.

The first day will feature presentations from DHR Health physicians and guest speakers. The second day will focus on hands-on skills labs intended to sharpen emergency response and sports medicine skills.

Organizers said the seminar is designed to support safer athletic programs by helping practitioners prepare for emergency situations involving students and athletes.

Although the event is free, registration is required through the DHR Health Office of Continuing Medical Education. Participants may register online through DHR CME tracker or contact the office at 956-362-3240 or cme@dhrhealth.com.

DHR Health leaders said the annual seminar continues to grow as a local training opportunity for professionals responsible for athlete safety across the region.
