EDINBURG, Texas – South Texas Health System Edinburg has been ranked among Texas’ top hospitals for the fifth consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report.
The hospital placed No. 30 in Texas in the publication’s 2026-27 Best Regional Hospitals rankings. STHS said it was the only Rio Grande Valley facility to receive a Best Regional Hospital numerical ranking this year.
U.S. News evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide, with approximately 16% receiving a numerical ranking. The assessment considers performance in complex medical care, patient outcomes and other quality measures.
STHS Edinburg and STHS Children’s CEO Lance Ames said the recognition reflects the work of the hospitals’ physicians, nurses and employees as the system expands access to advanced care in the growing region.
